Marianne was born in Montreal, Quebec, and was raised in several
places, mostly in Europe (Italy and France). She grew up in a multicultural
and multilingual environment. Indeed, she can speak French, English,
Italian and German. As a young adult, she got to live in her native
city again, and hence she found out about her Canadianness.
Her mother coming from Vietnam, she considers herself a citizen of
the world above all. Since she was a teenager, she has been involved
in the environmental cause with the WWF (Worldwide Fund for Nature).
Actually, she thinks that the biological survival of mankind is the
sine qua non of any kind of progress.
Her belief in progress is what led her to study science. She has attended
very prestigious schools such as McGill University and French Ecole
Normale Supérieure. She is now finishing her M.Sc. in Physics.
She wants to make her career in scientific research.
She happens to be very much into arts too, though. She used to study
drama, and still loves acting. Her hobbies include ballet, ice-skating,
reading, thinking and writing.
