STACEY PRIEUR
Stacey Prieur, a McGregor native, (McGregor - a blink of a town
outside of Windsor) decided to heed her calling and trade in that fresh cow manure
air, for some good ol' city smog.

FEBRUARY 12 2009 - SPECIAL GUEST PERFORMER AT Miss World Canada 2009 National Finals - Shari Lynn

Shari Lynn Born in Canada, Shari Lynn grew up listening to many different styles of music. "I've listened to it all! I grew up in a small town outside of Barrie, Ontario and my passions were music, horses and playing cards. They still are today!"

Over the years, Shari was able to develop herself as a performer having started out in a tribute band traveling and performing across Canada and the USA at casinos, bars as well as headlining fairs and festivals of up to 32,000 people. "It was a great learning experience and a stepping stone for who I am today."

With her success as a tribute artist, Shari was hired by Corus Entertainment and interviewed by CMT Canada and Country 95.3. In 2003, she was asked to join Shania Twain on stage at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto by Twain herself. She was later asked by CTV to be a special guest on Canada AM with Shania Twain co-hosting the show. "In June of 2006, I was called by one of my agents to play a date in Gogama ON just outside of Timmins.” Shari recalls, “It was a big compliment as a performer to learn that this was to perform for Shania's family and friends at the place where she grew up. I was later told by the Chief of the reserve, Willis, of Mattagami First Nations, who is also her cousin that I was recommended by Shania herself, for which was a great honour."

After several years of working hard at her tribute act, Shari took a shot at branching out as an original artist. In 2004, Shari got her break, when she was invited to showcase some original songs in South Carolina along side Grand Ole Opry Stars, Ernie Ashworth and the legendary Charlie Louvin of The Louvin Brothers, who won a Grammy in 2004 for the tribute album, Livin', Lovin', Losin': Songs of The Louvin Brothers. "It was a great experience and privilege performing with Charlie. He's very funny and loves to tell jokes! He made me laugh alot and we really hit it off! He's still a good friend today." remarks Shari. Charlie took an interest in Shari and offered to help her in any way he could. Louvin states, "Shari is better than two thirds of what is on the radio now. She is definitely super star material, she's got a million dollar personality and she's cute too!."

A friend of Shari's, Cindi Marx comments, "It was in 2004 that Shari decided to pursue her dreams of becoming an original artist. I was back stage with her at the Grand Ole Opry when Little Jimmy Dickens came up to her and said, 'I know you, you're Shari Lynn!' Everywhere we went people warmed to her. Another time during Fan Fair, we were standing on Broadway in downtown Nashville with longtime pal Jason McCoy (The Road Hammers) who said, 'If I had a dollar for every person that came up to you, I would be rich!' When she opened for McCoy as herself, a nice touch was when a fan showed up with a brand new Chevy truck with the windows tinted with her pictures on them and a license plate that read 'SHRILNFN'."

Shari has just completed her debut album titled 'Can You Cut It', scheduled to be released in January 2009. Can You Cut It, which took more than 2 years to develop, was produced by Helio 'Allan' Coelho (TAPPS/The Macarena) and Tom McKillip (Aaron Pritchett/Lisa Brokop). It includes award winning musicians John Dymond, Wendell Ferguson, and Jorn Andersen, as well as Randle Currie and Justin Williamson, who are currently on tour with Brad Paisley. The CD was recorded in Mississauga ON, Vancouver BC. with overdubs recorded in Nashville TN. The CD was mixed by L Stu Young (Prince) and Kevin Churko (Ozzy Ozbourne/Shania Twain). Churko later commented, “Shari Lynn has some of the best ears in the business! A pleasure to work with!”

Can You Cut It's songs were influenced by Shari’s past relationship experiences. "I've lived through an emotional roller coaster when it comes to relationships and I wished that I had songs to help me cope with leaving the situation instead of hanging on and putting myself through hell. Through trial and error it all worked out for me and it provided me with inspiration for songs. I think alot of people will relate to the music. Through the songs I sing, it brings back the old emotions, but this time in a positive way. I'm much more confident now and hope my songs will help others.."

AUGUST 2008 - Christopher Bates, designer of MWC 08 Leah Ryerse's gown for Miss World 2008
Christopher Bates was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada and has always been interested in fashion. By age 13 he already had a sketchbook full of designs for clothing and logos. An imaginative thinker, he was drawn to the creativity of the advertising industry and there forged a successful career for five years. Over time though he found the advertising industry lacked the artistry to develop his creativity. Recollecting his lifelong passion for fashion eh concluded a career evolution was in order.

He subsequently moved to the fashion capital of Milan, Italy and enrolled in internationally renowned Istituto Marangoni to study fashion design. “The program was immensely challenging, nevertheless I was completely determined to excel and when you are working hard at something you love it’s exciting.” His hard work paid off and he achieved perfect marks while learning and living in a city that breathes fashion. After graduating with honours, his work attracted interest from leading international firms including: Roberto Cavalli, Giorgio Armani, Puma, Parasuco and Panos Emporio. However, completely determined to start his own label, Bates returned to Vancouver to launch ULTRA.

Bates began working full-time on ULTRA in November 2007. The company was incorporated under the laws of British Columbia in February 2008. Bates’ vision is for ULTRA to revolutionize the fashion industry and become the future of menswear. His debut collection is for Spring 2009 and features 25 electrifying pieces; including a distressed Italian leather bomber available in black or tea (retail $1900) and waxed linen trousers available in grey or black (retail $395).

With a dream of one day expanding into womenswear Bates has begun working with select women on custom evening gowns. Bates has nearly completed an evening gown for Miss World Canada Leah Ryerse for the upcoming Miss World in Johannesburg, South Africa in December 2008. The gown is made of 100% silk taffeta that appears emerald from one angle and sapphire from another and promises to be striking. The gown also features 100% organic cotton lining. Bates is also creating a beautiful evening gown for Nyree Anna Hazelton who is launching her eponymous art gallery Nyree Hazelton Arts Inc. located on 2652 Arbutus Street in September.

In his spare time, he has traveled extensively in Europe, as well as North and Central America and his style is greatly influenced by his travels. It was during his second tour of Europe in Scandinavia and the Baltic’s that he rediscovered his youthful enthusiasm for fashion. “I was surprised by how stylish everyone was, especially in Stockholm, Sweden and Riga, Latvia. Their individualism, fashion sense and creativity was impressive.” His style is progressively urban and designed for youthful, active men looking to express their individual nature and taste for excellent quality, inventive apparel. “My design style is upbeat, if it were music it would be Electro.” “ My ethos is one word: RADICAL, it is the dynamic manner I live my life and is reflected in the energy of my designs”

ULTRA is designed for men who are in their prime and seeking to distance themselves from the mainstream. The name ULTRA should be interpreted literally as: going beyond what is usual or ordinary; excessive; extreme. This translates into a proactive approach to life. ULTRA men live for the moment and believe in pushing it to the limit. They lust for life and revel in their zeal. Their edge is energy. They are world travelers, adventurers, explorers, lovers, fighters, artists, leaders, individuals, risk takers and weekend warriors.
